The Artist
The unrivaled freedom of nature is the heart of my artistic intention while the messiness, crooked stems and flowing leaves create the structure for my work. My artistic process is as intentional as it is intuitive and thrives among colors that are explorative, spirit-driven and calm. With awe and a dash of jealousy, I am constantly seeking the perfect imperfection of nature through my art.
The Art
My mixed media works are a culmination of whatever intuition strikes when I step into the studio. I have every tool at my fingertips and as my music guides me into the creative process, I instinctually reach for my supplies such as acrylic, watercolor and gouache paints, graphite sticks, oil and water based pastels, inks, handmade stamps and stencils. Finger painting is a frequent occurrence. The work is built up in many layers over canvas, paper and wood substrates.
